In my area it is belive that one can not see the first moon due to the fact that there are many industry .what do you say to this. and what is the size of the first moon.
Praise be to Allaah.
It is not difficult to sight the new moon when it appears. Although it may be difficult to sight it in some places because there is too much smoke, it will not be difficult to sight it in other areas where the sky is clearer.
No matter how high smoke and buildings may be, they can never cover the moon like the clouds. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) has told us that if it is cloudy and we cannot see the new moon, then we must complete the month of Sha’baan and regard it as having thirty days.
So either the new moon can be seen through the smoke and buildings, in which case we should fast when it is seen;
Or it can be seen in another place where the sky is clearer, so we should fast when it is seen;
Or it is too cloudy and we cannot see it, so we should regard Sha’baan as having thirty days.
With regard to the size of the new moon when it appears, it is very small and cannot be seen except by one who has good eyesight.
And Allaah knows best.

Demonstrators are standing their ground in Cairo a day after hundreds of thousands of people gathered to call for Hosni Mubarak, the Egyptian president, to quit.
The protests entered their twelfth day on Saturday, after the city’s Tahrir Square, the focal point of protests in Egypt, saw demonstrators observe a “Day of Departure” on Friday.
About 10,000 pro-democracy protesters also gathered outside the main train station in Egypt’s second city, Alexandria, Al Jazeera’s correspondent there reported.
The leadership of the ruling National Democratic Party (NDP) resigned en masse on Saturday, according to state television.
Hossam Badrawi has been appointed the new secretary-general of the party, replacing Safwat El-Sherif, a Mubarak loyalist, in that post. Badrawi, seen by many as a liberal voice in the NDP, will also replace Gamal Mubarak, Hosni Mubarak’s son, as head of the party’s policies bureau.
Frank Wisner, who has acted as a special envoy for Barack Obama, the US president, has said Hosni Mubarak “must stay in office to steer” a process of gathering “national consensus around the preconditions” for the way forward.
PJ Crowley, the US state department’s spokesman, has said, however, that Wisner was speaking as a private citizen, and that his views did not represent those of the US government.
“The views he expressed today are his own. He did not coordinate his comments with the US government,” Crowley said.
Obama administration officials welcomed the resignation of Gamal Mubarak, terming it a “positive” move.
Despite the continuing demonstrations and the resignations, Ahmed Shafiq, the prime minister, said stability was returning to the country and that he was confident a deal could be reached on constitutional reforms. At a news conference aired on state television, Shafiq suggested that the government was seeking to enter into talks with enough opposition representatives to isolate street protesters.

Saturday’s protests in Cairo were calm, and protesters were seen lighting campfires across the square as night drew in.
With the exception of a standoff between two groups who were chanting slogans, there was no violence reported on Saturday.
One of Al Jazeera’s correspondents in Cairo said there were about 10,000 people in Tahrir Square and queues of people trying to get in. About 500 people joined the protesters from the port city of Suez.
Our correspondent reported that the army was “behaving as if it’s back to business as usual tomorrow [Sunday]“. He said that the military had removed checkpoints on the 6th of October bridge, allowing traffic to resume normally.
“The army is still securing the square, but their agenda appears to be isolating the protesters – keeping them safe, yes, but also minimising their impact on the surrounding areas,” our correspondent said.

Why was fasting singled out when Allaah said, “Fasting is for Me and I shall reward for it?”

Question: “What is special about fasting so that Allaah singled it out when He said, “Fasting is for Me and I shall reward for it?“.
=
=
Praise be to Allaah.

Al-Bukhaari (1761) and Muslim (1946) narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Allaah said: ‘Every deed of the son of Adam is for him except fasting; it is for Me and I shall reward for it…’”

Because all deeds are for the sake of Allaah and He is the One Who rewards for them, the scholars differed concerning this phrase, “Fasting is for Me and I shall reward for it” – why is fasting singled out in this manner?

Q. The chaining up of the devils in Ramadaan We know that in Ramadaan the devils (we seek refuge with Allaah from them) are chained up. And I would like to know whether the practitioners of sihr (magic, witchcraft) – may the curse of Allaah be upon them – practice their craft in this month?

=
A. Praise be to Allaah. Yes, the devils may whisper to man in Ramadaan, and the practitioners of witchcraft may practice their craft during Ramadaan, but that undoubtedly happens to a lesser extent than at times other than Ramadaan.
=
It was proven that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “When Ramadaan begins, the gates of Paradise are opened, and the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained up.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 3277; Muslim, 1079. According to al-Nasaa’i: “The most evil jinn are chained up.” This does not mean that the devils have no influence at all, rather it indicates that they become weaker in Ramadaan and are not able to do what they are able to do at times other than Ramadaan. It may be interpreted as meaning that the ones who are chained up are the most evil devils, not all of them.

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (may the blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), who said: Allah (mighty and sublime be He) says:
-
‘Fasting is Mine and it is I who give reward for it. [A man] gives up his sexual passion, his food and his drink for My sake. Fasting is like a shield, and he who fasts has two joys: a joy when he breaks his fast and a joy when he meets his Lord. The change in the breath of the mouth of him who fasts is better in Allah’s estimation than the smell of musk’
(Related by Bukhari, Muslim, Tirmidhi, Nasa’i and Ibn Majah).

What happens to those who have no access to Islam? How are they judged?
-
Jazak-Allah
Praise be to Allaah.
Shaykh ‘Abd al-Rahmaan al-Barraak answered this question as follows:
“Those who never hear the call of Islam, or they hear about it in an incorrect form, will be tested on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever obeys will enter Paradise and whoever disobeys will enter Hell, because Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): ‘… And We never punish until We have sent a Messenger (to give warning)’ [al-Isra 17:15].” And Allaah knows best.
